The B.A. degree in German Studies offers students a diverse program in the language, culture, and history of German-speaking Europe, including literature, the arts, business, politics, linguistics, and German migrants living in diaspora. The Minor in German Studies provides undergraduate students with a comprehensive introduction to the language and cultural forms of German-speaking Europe.

The Master's in German Studies and Doctoral degree in Germanic Languages & Literatures encompass diverse coursework, research, and pedagogical training. Students have the opportunity to explore in depth German literature, culture, linguistics, and second-language acquisition. Particular foci of our course offerings include  applied linguistics and pedagogy and German dialects in the United States, along with German literature and culture of the nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries. Our graduate students, upon completion of their degrees, pursue both academic and a wide range of non-academic careers.
