Alexander Montgomery, who graduated in May 2015, put his German minor to work right away – literally.
“I studied abroad in Germany the summer after my freshman year,” Alexander said, “which really got me out of my comfort zone and convinced me to go into a career I could take internationally.”
His summer in Germany was just the beginning. From there, Alexander went on to complete two internships overseas: one as a Marketing and Entrepreneurship intern for the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms in India; and the other as a Management and Public Affairs intern for the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. embassy in Macedonia.
His experiences abroad won’t take him too far away — yet. Alexander’s next stop after graduation is Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri, where he’ll work as a Professional Services Consultant.
No matter how far he spreads his wings, Alexander knows his roots.
“The German department is responsible for a huge portion of any success I’ve had here at the University, inside the classroom and out,” he said.
